Post surgery update

It's been a while since I posted last. It has been a busy summer and then I had to have surgery on my nose for 3 defects. So looking forward to being able to breathe again!! Bayli told the youth group and who knows else that I was having a nose job. She thought it was hilarious, which it is, and now I don't know how many people that don't really know me think I actually had a nose job. Oh well, there are worse things. She also saw me asleep on the couch and told Lealan that I look so tiny without my attitude. Where does she get this stuff. I ain't got an attitude! :) Not a bad one anyways. It's just seems that when you're my size you have to be a little aggressive to be heard, believed, not taken for granted, pushed around, blah blah blah. I just make my wants and needs heard gently.

April Fools

Yeah I know I am behind, but it's been crazy with golf and everything. Bayli played a great joke on Lealan that I knew nothing about. She was very sneaky. He was getting home after we left that day so before we left she set him up. She taped the sprayer nozzle on the sink down so that when he went to wash his hands it would soak him with water. However, instead of a rubberband she used clear tape so it would be hard to detect. Sometimes she makes me so proud! Well I knew nothing of this and that morning my cell phone died so when I went to leave work I plugged it in the car and a voice mail came through from Lealan stating "Tell YOUR daughter I'm gonna kill her." and then a text message from Bayli asking if dad liked her surprises. I have no idea what is going on and I get to Linda's to pick her up and she is so excited. When we get home Lealan says he went to wash his hands and turned the water on and it sprayed all over him and that he jumped out of the way like that would turn it off. He said it sprayed everywhere since he had a hard time figuring out what was happening since our very clever daughter used clear tape. He said he couldn't be mad at her because it is something he would have done himself.

Bojangles

We were talking about the Bojangles restaurant the other day and how good their biscuits are and Lealan told us a story about when him and his friend Danny went into a Bojangles. Well Lealan is 6'4" about 230 lbs and his friend Danny is even bigger than he is and together they make quite a pair. Now Bojangles has all you can eat chicken on Wednesday nights so keep that in mind. One night in Charlotte, which happened to be a Wednesday, him and Danny walk into Bojangles. He said they just had walked in the door and the guy behind the counter hollers to the back of the kitchen to drop some chicken. I laughed so hard because I know the two of them together look like they could eat plenty, but for the guy to actually holler it where they could hear it. I guess he's lucky they are nice guys.

Leftovers

Last Tuesday night I made taco stuff for dinner. That's what we call this skillet of turkey burger, refried beans, tomatos and green chiles that you put over tostitos with lettuce, sour cream, tomatos, jalapenos, cheese, etc etc. Me and Lealan love it, Bayli not so much. Well we had a big skillet of it and we ate it Tuesday and had it for leftovers on Wednesday. Thursday evening Bayli asked what we were having for dinner and I told her there was a little bit of taco stuff left that she could eat. She looked at me and said It's been 3 days it's probably not good, you know it ain't Jesus and then she walked off. Me and Lealan were standing there trying to figure out how she equated Jesus spending 3 days in the tomb with leftovers. She is right however that it ain't Jesus and no matter how good it is it's nowhere near as good as what we are going to have in Heaven!

Broken

We had lots and lots of beautiful snow come Monday morning. So we all bundled up and rode the 4 wheeler over to meet Jill and Aaron to play. We had the 4 wheelers, sleds, and intertube and we had a blast!!! We had been playing for a while and Bayli asked me to ride the tube with her again. She sets down in it and I sit beside her with my leg thrown over her. Lealan is pulling us for a while and then for some reason the tube goes crazy and I fly into a parked 4 wheeler. I'm glad Bayli was under me so she didn't get hurt. That ended our playing since I had to go to the ER, but it was so much fun while it lasted. I ended up with a big knot on my forehead, broken nose, possibly cracked ribs, bruised knee and leg, whiplash, and a bruised arm. I was really blessed that God was watching out for me and for keeping Bayli safe. I'll take whatever I got as long as she didn't get hurt. I have to go see an ENT about my nose since I broke it when I was younger. I will be sore for a while, but you can't keep me down for long!

Cupcake

At Church we were going to have trunk or treat for the kids. Last year was the first year and we loved it. We also give first and second prizes for the best decorated trunk and first and second prizes to the best costume. But to make it fair Mrs. Connie only allows the trick or treaters and their parents to vote. I was very surprised when I won first place in the costume contest. I was having a hard time this year trying to decide what to be and then I ate my favorite food, cupcakes, and realized what I wanted to be! That's right I was a cupcake. I'm not very arts and crafty, but with Lealan's help we made a great costume. One little girl said as I was handing her candy "I could eat you up!" I also decorated my trunk with cupcakes on cake plates. I'm already trying to think of next years costume because I want to be the one to beat every year :-)

Let them eat cake!

Bayli and Lealan's birthdays were August 28. Yes, they share a birthday which means 2 birthday cakes. Lealan usualy wants a german chocolate cake, but this year he wanted yellow with buttercream. No problem, however, Bayli wants a multi layered cake with fondant. I have never done anything with fondant. So about 2 weeks before this I bake a cake and practice. It turned out alright so I thought I could tackle the 4, yes I said 4 layer cake she wanted. I spent the Friday before the birthdays baking and decorating. This time with fondant was a little trickier than the first time, but it came out okay. I think I managed to hide the worst areas. It may not have looked the best, but it tasted great and Bayli loooovvvved it! Her loving it was worth all the time it took.

Bayli wins a bet

Last Monday the 15th Bayli was out of school for President's Day and I had to work so she stayed home with Lealan. They had to bring me to work that day because our roads were horribly iced over. Well when they came to pick me up Bay came in first and told me she was going to go buy a Sprite with the dollar she won from dad. I said how did you win it? She said they were watching Pawn Stars and there was a question on there that they were going to answer after the commercial break and her dad told her whoever got the question wrong owed the winner a dollar. Gotta start em young learning to gamble :) Well she answered correctly and he didn't so he had to cough up a dollar. I told her next time go for more than a dollar. He said on the way down the mountain to get me she said she was going to buy a sprite with her dollar and he said can't you think of something better to spend it on than a sprite? She said that sprite was going to taste so good because she was buying it with his dollar. That's my girl!

Wii Fit

Who knew you could have so much fun working out. At the beginning it tells you your wii fit age and bmi and all that yucky stuff. I was real worried that my age would be like 65, but I got lucky and it said my age was 32, which is okay because I will be 32 next week. I went into first place on a lot of them because I was the first to play, but my daughter soon came behind me and took me out. I wasn't happy. I like to be in the number 1 position and I am having a hard time getting that coveted spot back in the ski jump. I don't know how she achieved the number she got in it. I may never beat her in it, but I do hold the #1 position in the hula hooping!!!! WootWoot! You start out real good in that and then you start getting tired and you look like you are having some kind of fit. We laughed so hard at each other we were crying. In the super hula hoop you have to hoop so long moving your hips to the right and then to the left, well Lealan was doing the right ones and it finished and he kind of fell over to the couch and we are yelling get back on you have to do the other side and he is holding his heart telling us he can't because he is sure he is having a heartattack. He managed to scrape himself back up and finish and then at the end it told him how many calories he had burned, which it wasn't many, and he was like I did all that and didn't even burn off the Dr. Pepper I just drank?! I am going to have to try to capture his sweet hula hoop moves on video.

Mommy ESP

About 2 Sundays ago me and Lealan ate lunch when we got home from church and Bayli didn't want to eat then. Me and him were piled up on the couch watching football and Bayli was back in her room watching tv. She walked down the hallway and picked up her purse off the end of the couch and I looked at her and said "You aren't eating any candy until you eat lunch". She made a face and threw her purse back down on the couch and Lealan said "How in the world did you know that's what she was doing?" I said it was my mommy powers! We moms just have a gift.

Bayli rides up front

Yesterday I had to drive Lealan's truck because he was taking ours to get the roof repainted where a big tree limb fell on it and scratched the paint off and to pick up the rental. For those of you who don't know what he drives, his truck is an extended cab, but not with 4 regular doors. You have to open the front and then open the back. Because Bayli was going with me and it would be crazy for me to run around the vehicle to let her out I just told her to ride up front. She doesn't normally ride up front because she is still only 11 and they really want you to be at least 12 to ride up front and apparently she has a bigger fear of policeman than I knew about. As soon as I said just ride up front she got this scared, surprised look on her face and said "okay, but if we get pulled over I'm 12 years old and I was born in 1997!" I laughed so hard. I told her I was pretty sure we would be okay with the police if that happened. Of course since we then made it down with no arrests for her sitting up front when we went home that day in the rental she asked to ride up front. Now she's feeling like a risk taker and it can only be downhill from here :)

No baby rabbits :(

Well it looks like when Lealan checked Specs for gender he was wrong. Of course Specs was just little and it is hard to tell when they are small. We never bothered to check anymore because Lealan had said it was a girl so I got him out the other day and checked. I'm pretty sure he was a boy. Would have been easier to tell if he didn't have so much fur and Bayli wasn't standing there with her head all in the way trying to see to while shoving the book (with pictures) in my face. The look on poor Specs face was priceless.

New Rabbit!

Bayli got a buck (boy rabbit) yesterday and named him Briar. She already has a doe named Specs and she is wanting to have babies. On the ride home Lealan asked her how long we needed to leave them together before separating them again, which led to one of those if you don't want to know don't ask situations. Bayli said according to the book just about 15 minutes! I loved it. I said we might just leave them together for a few days and then separate. I honestly can't wait until we have some baby bunnies!!!!!
