Band Concert

Bayli had her first band concert at school on the 17th. She plays the alto sax. She did very good. They played Celebration, In the Bleak Midwinter, and Jingle Bells. I was so proud!!!! Of Course the sax is about as big as she is and it is heavy. I don't know how she lugs it around or holds it to play it.

Gingerbread House

On Saturday the 20th Dad took Bayli to the Art Store to make a Gingerbread House since I was recovering and Lealan and mom were here to take care of me. They had a blast! I would have loved to have watched them as they put the house together and decorated it. It looks so good. Bayli even added the crook of a candy cane above the door to hold the porch light. It now sits in the middle of our kitchen table as our centerpiece.

Surgery Update.

This is the first post since the surgery. I am doing well. Just moving slow. Only problems are when I laugh, which is often, and cough. Those of course hurt a little, but that's fine. Otherwise all looks good.

Book Report Float

Well we finished the book report float today. I have to say it looks pretty good. Bayli did the report on James Patterson's Maximum Ride - Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports. She loves that series. And if you don't know the characters in it are part bird and have wings. We used my cricut machine that I so love to scrapbook with to make some people and clothes and then glued them to popsicle sticks and stuck on the float. Hopefully you can kind of see it in the picture. Then on one side of the float Bayli put the name of the book and the author and on the other wrote a brief summary of the book. Keep your fingers crossed that she makes a good grade! I think she will, but then I'm her mom and that makes me a little prejudice. Only 12 more days until Christmas!!!!!!

So much to do!!!

There is much to do this weekend. With the surgery on Thursday we are going to get the house cleaned real good and all the clothes washed up. We have to buy the final 2 Christmas presents, because nobody wants me buying presents in my drug induced stupor! Bayli has to finish her book report that is made out of a shoebox. It is a shoebox float, i guess they are going to have a book report parade?!?! When I was in school we just wrote a page or 2 about the book we read and turned it in. The last book report she did had to be a diary, or a comic book, or done as an advertisement. I am so glad I am out of school, but I am not sure I am going to pass the 5th grade! If I remember I will take a pic of the "float" and post it on here for all to see.

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

Well, here it is our first blog. I should have waited until after the first of the year since I will be having surgery next week and will be out of commission for a bit, but I didn't. So here we are. I will try to keep it up to date and keep pictures up to date so that our out of town family can keep up with how Bayli is growing up and how the rest of the fam is. I'm sure there will be posts from Bayli and I will probably have to limit her because she can get carried away.
